Riding the Wave: Trusting the Flow of Change

You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” — Jon Kabat-Zinn

There is a distinct shift that happens when we stop trying to control the tides of our lives and instead learn to ride them. For so long, many of us are taught to build fortresses against the water—to plan every second, anchor down, and resist the natural pull of change. But true evolution? That happens when we grab our board, step into the surf, and trust the current.

Freedom comes when we forget about who is watching and just let go!

Finding Stillness in Motion: How do we find that "calm center" when the waves feel massive? It’s about anchoring into the present moment—whether that’s through a small daily ritual, a deep breath of salt air, or putting paint to canvas.

As we move into this next season, I’m learning to stop fighting the tide. I'm choosing to paddle out, feel the wind, and trust that the water knows exactly where it’s carrying me.

Take a breath with me: Where in your life are you fighting the current right now? What would it look like to simply lay back, trust the water, and ride the wave?
